Napoli’s Says ‘Ciao’ to the Old and ‘Ciao’ to the New

Napoli’s Says ‘Ciao’ to the Old and ‘Ciao’ to the New

From July 9, 2019 until Sept. 3, 2019, customers waited patiently (impatiently?) for the renovation to be completed at their favorite Italian eatery, Napoli’s. When the doors swung open, revealing all-new furniture, flooring, paint, kitchen and bathrooms, a sweet sigh of “bellissimo” was breathed. Upon hearing that the much-loved menu remained the same (including prices), the accolades reached a crescendo.

Brothers, and Murphy residents, Artan “AK” and Nori Krasniqi co-operate Napoli’s, located at 4101 E. Park Rd, #120. Their father, also a Murphy resident, Mike Krasniqi opened this location in 1997. The brothers grew up in the family business.

AK reports that during the renovation he was at the restaurant more than normal. He said, “I was here from seven in the morning until 10 or 11 at night.” After an unfortunate turn of events, AK had to take on the role of general contractor. He and his brother completed the renovation together. He reports they learned as they went. Before this recent renovation, the only cosmetic improvement was in 2008 when they changed the paint. AK said, “It feels like a new restaurant.”

During this time of renovation, additional excitement came to the Krasniqi family when AK’s first child was born in Aug.

Regarding why this was the right time for the renovation, AK said, “We needed a facelift. There were some areas I knew we needed to improve on as far as efficiency. We were set up more as a New York pizzeria style – pizzas out front, kitchen in the back. We offer more than just pizza here; we have a full menu.” Their previous layout would bottleneck, particularly on the weekends. The new kitchen is more efficient.

They have added a full-service bar to the establishment. The bar will be open in Oct. AK describes it as a cozy, neighborhood bar. They will also have a party room that fits up to 40 people.

They did install new kitchen equipment with the exception of their pizza ovens. AK said, “These ovens I have now were built in the 60s. They made better quality ovens then than they make now.” Over the years, the Krasniqi family has opened many restaurants. With each new restaurant, they implemented improvements based on experience. They were able to incorporate those time-tested improvements to this location during the renovation.

Customers will notice that service has improved. Staff members are enjoying the clutter-free, well-defined work areas. They also have more space in the kitchen. Many of the staff members have worked at Napoli’s for at least 15 years.

Their New York style pizza is their most popular menu item. The Chicken Scarparela (chicken sautéed in a creamy sauce with fresh mushrooms, scallions, sweet red peppers and baked with mozzarella cheese) and Chicken Carciofi (mushrooms, artichoke hearts, sherry wine cream sauce) are also very popular.

They offer student lunch specials for $6.95 which includes two slices of pizza and a soft drink. They also offer a lunch special for $8.95 which includes pasta, bread and a salad.

Most of their delivery orders go to Murphy. Many of their dine-in customers are Murphy residents. To see their menu and for more information, go to napolisplano.com/east-plano-full-menu. You can also find them on Facebook. They can also be reached at 972-516-9663. Napoli’s is open Tues., Wed., Thur. and Sun. 11a.m. – 9 p.m. Fri. and Sat. 11am – 10pm. (They are closed on Mondays.)
