Mavericks 7th Grade Teams Defeat Armstrong

On September 24th the 7th grade Murphy Mavericks Silver and Blue teams played against Armstrong at Clark East. Both teams remained undefeated on the season as they cruised to victory.

The Silver team jumped out to an early lead and never looked back in route to a 32-6 victory. The offense was lead on the ground with rushing touchdowns from Xavier Datcher (two TD’s) and Andrew Earls. Murphy quarterback Caleb Ortiz connected on touchdown passes to Jayden Tesar and William Thompson to complete the scoring. The Mavericks were led on the defensive side with strong play from Aiden Baum, Ben Griffin, and Cole Rodriguez.

The Blue team overwhelmed Armstrong on defense and offense winning 31-0. Tamar Seldon scored two rushing touchdowns for the Mavericks while Cole McClendon added another. Kendall Keierleber added a score on defense when he recovered a fumble in the end zone and had an interception which combined Cj Chaloux’s strong play anchored the defense.
