Basketball Camps Train Future Hoop Stars

Basketball Camps Train Future Hoop Stars

The annual basketball camps for Plano East Boys and Girls have been running since early June.  Led by Boys Varsity Coach, Matt Wester, these summer camps have been training kids from Murphy and Plano who might one day be part of the Plano East Basketball program.

“Players are grouped according to their age and ability” said Coach Wester, who is entering his second season at the helm of the PESH varsity program.  Wester has worked with the summer camp program during his 6 previous years as an assistant in the program, and was present with assistant Derrick Richardson during the June 26th session for boys and girls in the Kindergarten thru 6th grade range.

More than 30 area kids attended the week’s session that focused specifically on building skills for young players.  Campers enjoyed the opportunity to learn from current players on the Varsity team as well.  Senior Jackson Davis was assisting during the session as “Coach Jackson” under the direction of Richardson.

PESH Summer Basketball camps continue with sessions hosted at McMillen High School during the final week of July.
