WHS Dominates North Dallas 6-1

The 2019 Jay Higgins Classic was held on March 7 – 9 at Lake Highlands, Berkner, Richardson and J.J. Pearce High Schools. Wylie High’s varsity baseball team took on North Dallas Bulldogs and Belton Tigers during the first day of the tournament. Both teams were scoreless in the first, before a sacrifice fly by Pirates #1 Joseph Corso sent #3 Dawson Cox home. By the top of the fifth inning things began heating up as Pirates #21 Kevin Cook hit a homerun bringing in two runs. The Pirates would ultimately dominate North Dallas with a final score of 6-1. The second game of the tournament ended with Belton winning 8-3.
