The City of Murphy hosted the 3rd annual Daddy Daughter Dance on Feb. 16 at Murphy Community Center. This year’s winter wonderland theme was filled with fun as fathers and daughters celebrated together. After checking in, each attendee’s picture was taken by a professional photographer before they began making memories.

A buffet included pizza and fresh fruit, along with a table filled with marshmallows and hot chocolate. Tables surrounding the dance floor were topped with blue balloons as winter decorations were spread throughout the room. A DJ played a variety of music throughout the evening while guests played games and participated in fun activities. Dad’s helped their daughters decorate cookies and also create their own tiaras. Event organizers periodically paused the music to call out winning numbers for an array of prizes.

City of Murphy Recreation Specialist Debbie Scott explained, “We are very pleased with the excitement and enjoyment the sold-out event’s activities generated with both dads and daughters. From the iceberg island game to our freeze dance contest to our snowball fort, we think everyone enjoyed the many activities we offered throughout the evening.”

She went on to say, “We are very thankful to our sponsors for the big part they played in making the night a special and memorable event: Aqua-Tots Swim Schools, Baskin Robbins, Beary Fluffy Friends, Boomer Jacks, Braum’s, Christian Brothers, Country Burger, Fantastic Sams, Keller Williams, Marco’s Pizza, Mogio's Gourmet Pizza, Popcorn is Bliss and Raising Cane’s.”
