Cooper Patriots Dominate Utley Wolves

Cooper Patriots went up against Utley Wolves on Jan. 23 at home. The A team started slow, but played a strong second half to close the game’s gap and get momentum for the last two weeks of the season. Keegan Smith stepped up to score 6 points while making plays on both ends of the court. The B team played aggressively to take a strong early lead and sustained good play on offensive and defense to finish with a 15-6 win.

Coach Russell Smith said, “C team secured a great win last night against Utley. Despite a somewhat slow start, they started picking up speed in the second quarter and really came together as a team. Cristina Cabellaro kept the energy high despite a tough opponent, and Maddie Anderson had some great offensive drives. Marissa Armendariz was the top scorer of the night, helping get the win for a total of 16 to 6. Way to go Cooper, and good luck at the tournament on Friday!”
