An Evening of Elegance: Murphy Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Awards Banquet

January 25, 2019 - Attendees of the Murphy Chamber of Commerce Annual Awards Banquet – Black & White Gala, presented by Methodist Richardson Medical Center, looked stylishly tailored as they arrived in their black and white cocktail attire.

The evening began with a cocktail hour which provided an opportunity for guests to mingle and network. After the cocktail hour, guests were invited to enter the gala where they were greeted with elegant décor and filled-to-the-brim raffle prize baskets. Dinner was served and then the annual awards were presented. Jon Lashbrook auctioned off a stained glass piece benefitting the Chamber’s Scholarship Foundation. In a moment of spontaneity, Murphy Police Chief Cotten volunteered to shave off his mustache “if the price is right”. The bidding started at $10 and was won by the owner of Fantastic Sam’s in Murphy, Ben Cooper, for $80. This amount also benefits the Scholarship Foundation.
