Sinai Urgent Care Proudly Serves Murphy
Founded by veteran emergency room physician, Dr. Nick Karr, Sinai Urgent Care is located at 211 East FM 544 in Murphy, and also at 18101 Preston Road in Dallas. After graduating from the University of Michigan and attending medical school at Wayne State University, Karr completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at St. Johns Hospital before moving to Dallas to begin his career as a doctor.
“It occurred to me that a huge portion of patients seen in the ER, did not need to be seen in an ER. What’s more, I began to see how the current and freestanding ER model was fundamentally broken, in that it often sought to maximize financial objectives over patient care and medical outcomes,” explained Karr. “It also was quite clear to me that the challenges of both the difficulty in accessing healthcare, as well as poor quality of customer service provided in the other established urgent care centers, afforded the opportunity to offer an alternative.”
Dr. Nick Karr completed his residency at St. Johns Hospital in Detroit.
Sinai Urgent Care provides specialized health care services for patients seeking medical attention without the high cost and hassle of visiting a hospital’s emergency room. Each location offers treatment for non-life threatening injuries such as lacerations, broken bones, back pain, burns and sports injuries, among other medical needs.
Experienced medical practitioners are trained to work in all positions at Sinai Urgent Care. “We recognize that a good, positive patient experience starts with the staff. As a provider, they could love me, but that doesn’t matter if the person at the front door didn’t smile when the patient walked in,” Karr said. “We recognize this and want to create a positive experience. We try to make sure everyone is cross-trained to do every job because we are all on the same team.”
Sinai Urgent Care prides itself in being truly transparent. Not only are they committed to excellent customer service and quality care, they work diligently with patients to ensure the care they receive is affordable without any surprises. When insurance coverage is not an option or deductibles are too high, three levels of care are offered as a part of self-pay pricing. Basic ($129), moderate ($189) and complex ($279) prices reflect the cost of frequently provided services.
Karr, a devoted husband and proud father of four children, shared his philosophy stating, “Always do the right thing by treating people the way you would like to be treated. Give each patient the care you would want to receive, and surround yourself with employees that are a good fit. If a patient comes in and we do a full evaluation, then decide the patient needs to go to the emergency room, we don’t bill for that visit. Patients definitely appreciate it.”
Sinai Urgent Care is committed to focusing on the fundamentals of customer service and excellent health care. Sinai is open seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and has a convenient online check-in system. For more information, call 972-200-3199 or visit their website at sinaiurgentcare.com.
