WHS Softball Camp Focuses on Fun
Students entering third through sixth grade recently attended Wylie High School’s summer softball camp. Several coaches worked to improve each player’s softball skills from June 25 – 28. “We’ve been working on a little bit of everything this week – hitting, fielding, base running. You name it and we’re doing it,” explained WHS Coach Jason Patterson. “We spend a bunch of time letting the girls know that this is how we practice in high school. These are the same drills—exactly like this.” After learning more about the fundamentals of softball, campers played games against each other as coaches instructed them on positioning and how to make each play better.
