Tibbals Tigers’ Fun-Filled Field Day
May 23, 2018 - Is this a dream? Did someone say take your shoes off at school? An adult said get really wet at school? No, it’s not a dream; it is field day at Tibbals Elementary. Who knew holding a plastic bottle on your stomach while your classmate filled it with water could be so incredibly funny? Classic relays such as sack races (origins traced back to 1880), three-legged race (origins traced back to 1900) and egg and spoon race (origins traced back to 1894) were still crowd pleasers for Tibbals Tigers. Inflatables, lacrosse, basketball and so much more created simultaneous pockets of memory-making fun as the countdown clock ticked closer and closer to summer vacation. Their final day of school for 2018 was May 24.
Coach Joey Ingram said, “Field day is a fun way for parents, students, and teachers to come together and celebrate the amazing year we had.” There were 48 parent volunteers which Ingram described as amazing and said, “We couldn’t have done it without them!”
