Which Wich is Rich in Choices
Murphy resident, Sri Alapati, purchased three Which Wich Superior Sandwiches franchises at the end of 2017. They are located in Wylie, Richardson and Addison. Alapati said that he chose to purchase the Wylie franchise because his kids love the food, it is close to his house and it is in a great location. He receives many residential, school and business customers from Wylie, Murphy and Sachse. He purchased the additional two locations because it was a package deal. He chose Which Wich over other franchise options because he likes the food, it offers a premium brand, he likes that the sandwiches are served hot, they offer a good training program and it is a local corporation.
Describing their sandwiches (‘Wich”) he said they are “craveable”. He adds that they are made with high quality fresh ingredients. He points out their signature ordering process where the customer chooses a bag that will soon house their customized Wich. The bag, which serves as the order form, is filled out by the customer before approaching the employee which allows the customer the luxury to think about their choices without feeling rushed. Customers can choose as many toppings as they want from over 40 choices, at no additional cost. Choices include bleu cheese, pesto, marinara, jalapenos, hummus, pickles, cucumbers, sauerkraut, chipotle and so much more. Alapati said he enjoys seeing customers choose copious amounts of Wich toppings and truly make their meal their own.
He has noticed that the popular menu items vary at his different franchise locations. The turkey Wich is the most requested Wich at the Wylie location. They recently added Eggwiches to their menu. Alapati said these Wiches offer a good source of protein. He said that customers are surprised to find real ice cream milkshakes on the menu. This summer they will roll out Pizzawiches. Alapti also hopes to offer gelato and coffee starting this summer.
Philanthropically speaking, for every one peanut butter and jelly Wich purchased, Which Wich donates two peanut butter and jelly sandwiches in “Project PB&J” (one locally, one anywhere in the world during a time of emergency). Alapati is working with Wylie ISD to create a program to provide Wiches to students in need. He also hosts community spirit nights for schools and other organizations.
Alpati is pleased with how the franchises are doing so far. He said he enjoys seeing many repeat customers and notes there is one gentleman that comes into the Wylie location four times a week and reads the paper while eating his meal. Alpati said, “At the end of the day it’s all about the guest. We want them to have a personal experience.”
