WHS Competes in UIL District 6-6A Championships

Wylie High School athletes participated in the UIL District 6-6A Championships at Kimbrough Stadium on April 4 - 5. Athletes competed in shot put, long jump and pole vault from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on the first day. Discus, triple jump and high jump took place during the same time frame the following day of competition.

JV athletes had four attempts during field events while varsity had three. The top eight varsity athletes moved on to finals for three more attempts, with the best overall score being recorded. Preliminaries for running events began at 5 p.m. on April 4, with qualifiers returning on April 5 to compete in the running finals. Luke Lambert set a school record of 9:43.29 in the 3200-meter run.
