Tibbals Tigers Dash into Healthy Lifestyles

Tibbals Elementary School hosted the 2nd annual Tiger Dash 5K & Kids Cub Crawl Obstacle Challenge on April 7. An unexpected cold front delivered chilly weather with light rain, but didn’t stop family and friends from having a great day celebrating physical fitness. Each year, the event continues to shine a light on the importance of children living a healthy lifestyle. By placing kids’ health in the spotlight, students have a better understanding regarding the benefits of eating healthy and exercising regularly.

Students arrived with their families bright and early to participate in warm-ups, led by Michelle Teggatz with Camp Gladiator, before the races began. After completing the race, participants proudly received a medal at the finish line. Walkers and runners were able to quench their thirst and enjoy healthy snacks. A fitness festival followed the race that included games, exercise demonstrations and local vendors. A DJ played music as family and friends enjoyed another successful event at Tibbals. Money raised from this year’s event will be used to purchase STEM equipment for the school.
