Murphy Soccer Team Gives Back to the Community
Force FC is a girls recreational soccer team that formed in the Fall of 2015 and plays at PSA Murphy. The girls have become a very close knit group over the past 2 years. Recently, the team parents decided to start organizing service projects for the girls to complete to show them how much fun they can have while giving back to their community.
Over the holidays, the girls wrote thank you notes and put together care packages for soldiers. A local resident, Sergeant John Gonzales, delivered these to his soldiers overseas.
Recently, as a part of their season ending party, the girls baked and put together goody baskets for the Murphy Police and Fire Departments. They delivered the goodies along with thank you posters to show their appreciation for the first responders.
Future projects include a diaper drive for Nurse Family Partnership, a non-profit group that assists at risk moms, and a volunteer day at Throwaway Ponies, a horse rescue in Farmersville.
