Murphy Superheroes Attend Mother Son Extravaganza
The City of Murphy hosted a superhero-inspired celebration giving mothers the opportunity to make long-lasting memories with their sons. The highly anticipated event took place on March 24 at Murphy Community Center with approximately 160 guests in attendance.
After the success of the second annual Daddy Daughter Dance in February, event organizers were excited to bring another heart-warming event to Murphy residents. City of Murphy Recreation Specialist, Channing Montgomery, explained, “The theme was developed from the bond between a mother and her son which lasts a lifetime. It remains unchanged by time or distance and is the purest unconditional love. There is just something special about this relationship. In the eyes, heart and mind of a son, you are supermom… his first superhero!”
Activity stations lined each corner of the room, along with a bounce house and building block area. Guests wore hulk gloves while smashing brick-like boxes, played Captain America Frisbee, archery and much more. Adding to the fun was a photo booth and face-painting area. Throughout the evening, prizes were awarded for the best dynamic duo, best superhero son, best superhero mom and most original. A table filled with prizes was also awarded to raffle winners.
As the DJ played superhero-themed songs, each mom and son laughed, danced and played until the action-packed evening finally came to an end. As each superhero left the building, it was evident they would cherish this magical experience for years to come.
