Wylie Athletes Attend Ron McNeill Invitational
Wylie High School athletes competed in the Ron McNeill Invitational at Kimbrough Stadium on March 3. WHS head track coach, Conner Calley, proudly explained, “The boys had a great competition on Saturday finishing second as a team on the varsity level and third in the junior varsity division. Varsity standouts were Ethan Hesson who won the pole vault with a jump of 14”4 (which was a new school record), the varsity 4x100-meter relay team finished second with a season best time of 42.94, Zuri Henry took first in the shot put with a throw of 47” and Gaseven McGrue won varsity long jump with a distance of 21”6. Rockwall Rockin’ “R” Relays is the next track meet and will be held at Rockwall Wilkerson Sanders Memorial Stadium at 1:30 p.m. on March 23.
