96 Warrants Cleared During Warrant Roundup

96 Warrants Cleared During Warrant Roundup

Murphy Police Department participated in the Great Texas Warrant Roundup this year. The roundup occurred between Feb. 9 and March 4. Patti Towne, City of Murphy Court Administrator said, “During this time, 96 Class C Traffic and City Ordinance violation warrants were cleared, by either full payment of fines, or setting up payment plans. Two people that were arrested by other cities received jail time served for their cases.”

When Murphy officers made contact with citizens in Murphy, Wylie and Sachse, the citizens were instructed to appear in person at the court’s office to make arrangements to pay fines, or speak to the judge. Towne said, “If a person was not at home, officers left a card with the court’s contact information for them.” No citizens were transported to Collin County Detention Center by Murphy PD. This was the first time in many years that Murphy participated in the statewide warrant roundup.
