Incident 18003598 02/02/2018 00:00 - 02/05/2018 18:00 1000 block Amesbury Dr. Offense: Deceptive Business Practice. (Swindle/Confidence). $915 is listed on the incident report as stolen. The victim reported that they had applied for a loan and was denied that loan. After the denial, the loan was deposited into the victim’s bank account. When the victim inquired about it, she was threatened with arrest by someone claiming to be the police. An offense report was completed. 

Incident 18003972 02/07/2018 14:33 750 N. Murphy Rd. (McMillen High School). Offense: Assault Threaten Bodily Injury. Statute: Disruption of school classes/disorderly conduct. The officer was made aware of the threat involving the student threatening bodily injury to a teacher on 02/09/2018 (the incident occurred on 02/07/2018) at 1022hrs. Information was collected and a report was filed. The student threatened the teacher verbally when they said, “Back up or I will stick you.”

Incident 18004945 12/20/2017 12:00 200 block Creekside Dr. Offense: Deceptive Business Practice. $60,000 is listed on the incident report as stolen. The victim was contacted by someone online wanting him to invest in a company that was going to open a store here. The victim was asked to make several purchases to help with the store opening. Much of what the victim purchased was gift cards. The business name is Global Logistics and Warehousing. This is an active case and has been turned over to a detective. 

Incidents 18004705 and 18004698. Incident 18004705 occurred 01/26/2018 08:30 and Incident #8004698 occurred 02/16/2018 21:45. Both occurred in the 200 block of Love Bird Ln. On Jan. 26, the offense is listed as aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Police remarks state: “…victim stated that on listed date, listed suspect attempted to choke him and then grabbed a knife and attempted to stab him at listed location. Offense report was completed. Knife was confiscated and placed into evidence.” On Feb. 16, the offense is listed as assault causes bodily injury. MPD informed that two subjects were fighting/wrestling and one got a nose bleed. The incident revolved around a suicidal subject. The victim did not report the attempted stabbing at the time of the incident, but called police on February 16 because things were getting worse. The offender was taken into custody and taken to a psychiatric facility.
