McMillen Freshman Boys Compete in McKinney Tourney
The McMillen Boys competed in the McKinney Tourney from November 29th- December 1st. The A-team Lions had their first game of the tourney against the Colony Thursday night. The Lions came out victorious, moving on to play Allen on Friday night.
McMillen and Allen proved to be worthy opponents of each other, allowing a very competitive came to pursue. The Lions ended the first period down against Allen 9-17. This didn’t discourage the Lions however, as they made gains in the second period, putting them 27-30 in the second half. With time to regroup during halftime, McMillen had a powerful third period, taking the lead from Allen only a few minutes into the period. By the beginning of the fourth, McMillen was ahead 42-38. The Lions and Eagles battled back and forth throughout the final period, with McMillen always maintaining a minor lead. With 11 seconds left in the game, Allen scored a three-pointer, placing them in the lead by one point. The Lions couldn’t make up the difference in time and ultimately lost 53-54. Star players included Brandon Hardison (14 pts) and Danny Suliman (15pts).
You can find McMillen rematch against Allen on home turf December 21st in their last game before the break. The A-team will be playing at 3:00 and the B-team will be playing at 4:15, all at McMillen High School.
