Eagle Scout Project Completed at Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club
John Michael Fuentes is a ninth-grade student at McMillen High School. He chose to do his Eagle Scout Project for The Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club of Plano, Texas. John Michael, and other scout members from Troop 198 in Plano, built two planter benches. While John Michael was doing volunteer work over the summer for the Salvation Army, he decided that this was the right organization for his Eagle project. He coordinated with Captain New and Tiffany Jones to find out what they needed. John Michael started researching his project in August and completed the planter benches on November 27, 2018. Lawn Master of Waxahachie, Texas donated the supplies to build the benches.
Tiffany Jones, Unit Director for The Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club, said, “That the amount of care, creativity, time and team work that John Michael Fuentes put forth in this Eagle Project shows greatly! The two wooden benches have been beautify built and look welcoming in the rear entrance. We appreciate the service of our community members such as this young man. “
John Michael Fuentes has been in Scouting since he was in first grade. He earned the highest achievement in Cub Scouts, The Arrow of Light. This project was the last hurdle for him to earn his Eagle Rank in Boy Scouts of America.
