Freshman Lions A-team dominate against Shepton
On October 25th, the Freshman A-team competed against the Shepton High School Stallions in one of their last games of the regular season.
The Lions began the game with a powerful defense, keeping the Stallions far from the end zones. McMillen brought in its first touchdown with Dozie Igwe running in the ball. Shepton quickly made up the touchdown, however, scoring for themselves in the first play after kickoff. The Lions were down 7-8 by the end of the first. The second quarter proved successful as well for McMillen, with Dozie Igwe scoring another touchdown with less than two minutes before half. Shepton pulled in one more touchdown, though, in the final seconds of the first half. At halftime, the Lions were tied 14-14.
With the third quarter just beginning, Kay Oliver scored with an at least 50 yard run and then again with only 2 minutes left in the third. Both field goals were good, rounding out the score to 28-20 going into the final quarter. Kay Oliver continued his scoring streak in the 4th with a third touchdown halfway through the fourth. In an exciting interception play, Jaxon Atchley took the ball and ran it into the end zones for the final touchdown of the night for the Lions. Shepton managed one last goal before the game ended, putting the score at 42-26.
