Excel Health MD Brings Integrative Medicine and Weight Loss to Murphy
Excel Health MD celebrated the clinic’s launch with an open house on Oct. 27 at 318 West FM 544 in Murphy from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. Excel Health MD’s owner, Dr. Indrani Raman, is a board-certified physician who uses both traditional medicine and integrative methods to help men and women dramatically improve their health. Guests attending the event enjoyed a variety of nutritious food and drinks while Dr. Raman discussed the importance of living a healthy lifestyle.
Dr. Raman attended medical school in India before completing her Internal Medicine residency and fellowship in Nephrology at the University of Buffalo in New York. She spent 12 years in private practice as a kidney physician before deciding to work with patients on wellness and healing while also preventing obesity. Dr. Raman became certified in Obesity Medicine after training at the Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine. Her objective is to help patients stay on track with nutrition and wellness to prevent unnecessary medical problems in the future.
Dr. Raman explained, “My goal is to combine traditional medicine with integrative treatment methods. Our mission is to provide exceptional care with a passion for nutrition. We use a holistic approach because I think people need more than just a diet. They also need stress management, lifestyle changes and sleep guidance. All of these things come with integrative medicine.”
Excel Health MD is offering a free Qigong wellness session at Murphy Community Center (205 N. Murphy Road) on Nov. 15 from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. The practice of Qigong involves meditation and breathing techniques, along with improving posture and guided imagery. Dr. Raman hopes members of the community will use activities like Qigong to help reduce stress and ultimately prevent disease. The session is available for anyone ages 16 – 99.
