Married business partners, Jason and Andrea Klima, have decided to use their entrepreneurial spirit to give back to the community. After operating the Bricks & Minifgs location in Sachse since December 2017, the Klima’s are hosting a Blocks for Socks, Trunk or Treat Event on Friday, October 26, from 5pm until 8pm. Admission is simply to bring a pair of new socks to donate to Metro Relief, a local non-profit who collects and distributes new adult-sized tube socks each year during a campaign they call SOCKtober.

While Jason and Andrea are relatively new to Sachse, they have brought their experience of operating two previous Bricks & Minifigs stores in Plano and in Dallas for the past 3 years. Opening close to Murphy was an opportunity they did not anticipate when they launched the company’s thirteenth nationwide franchise in Central Plano in 2015. “The business opportunity to expand to this community was one we did not want to pass up” said Andrea, surrounded by a vast collection of current and retired LEGO sets. “Giving back to the community-at-large thru our Trunk or Treat event fits exactly who we are as a family and how we run our business”

This others-focused, family approach to business presents itself from the very beginning of the Klima’s experience being franchise owners specializing in LEGO. They credit their now 15-year old son Noah with his young passion for LEGO minifigures that introduced them to both the opportunity behind their business as well as introducing them to the Bricks & Minifigs franchise. “Noah’s 10-year old obsession with just minifigures brought us into a franchise location in Hawaii back in 2013” recounts Klima. “He was asking for a very expensive LEGO set simply because he wanted a single minifigure that couldn’t be found in any other set.” A Bricks & Minifigs location that sold individual minifigures presented itself as both a solution for their son’s passion, but also became their opportunity to consider owning their own business.

Noah, Lili, Andrea and Jason Klima can regluarly be found helping customers dig deep in the bulk piles of LEGO.

Jason had been stationed with the entire family in Hawaii for the United Sates Air Force at the time of their introduction to Bricks & Minifigs. After 10 years in the service and two tours in Afghanistan, the opportunity to move back home to North Texas and open a business the entire family could be passionate about aligned for the Klimas. Now Noah and younger sister Lili can be found helping Mom and Dad at any one of the three family-operated locations. Noah and Lili are often consulted as research experts when customers have specific questions about the product.

Jason and Andrea genuinely appreciate the first 10 months of being neighbors to us in Sachse and are happy to have both young and adult fans of LEGO drop in. They invite parents and kids to stop by the Trunk or Treat event on Friday, October 26 between 5pm and 8pm, planned for the parking spaces in front of the Bricks & Minfigs location on highway 78 in Sachse, just north of the Kroger Supermarket.
