8th Grade Mavericks Play in Pink Out Game

The Murphy Middle 8th grade football team competed against Carpenter Middle on October 2nd.

The B-team had a strong start to their game with an interception by Christian Smith with two minutes before the end of the quarter. The offense failed to get to the end zone, though, with a turnover on downs. By halftime, the Mavericks were down 0-6. The B-team was able told hold back Carpenter in the third quarter, but ultimately fell short by the end of the game, losing 14-0.

A-team began to bring the heat during the 2nd quarter, with a touchdown by Harris Boyd. By the end of the third, the Mavericks had racked in another touchdown, making the score 12-8. The 4th quarter contained many notable plays with Seth Bright making an impressive block of a pass and Rushil Patel catching a long pass.

The 8th grade Mavericks would love for you to come out to their next game on Tuesday, October 16th against Renner Middle School. They will be playing at at Clark East with B-team at 5:30 and A-team at 7:00
