Pontoon Boat Accident Resulted in No Injuries

On October 7, 2018, a pontoon boat became detached from the tow vehicle as the vehicle was

turning eastbound from traveling northbound on S. Maxwell Creek Road. The pontoon boat

flipped over.

Murphy Fire Rescue’s narrative on the incident stated, “E195 was on the way back to the station

when we came up to a pontoon boat upside down in the intersection. E195 assessed all occupants

in truck and there were no injuries. E195 blocked traffic and cleared debris. E195 cleared and

returned to service.”

Murphy Police Chief Cotten informed that a report was not made on this incident since it was

only the boat that was damaged. No other vehicles were involved. The incident took

approximately two hours to clear and the boat was towed from the scene.
