The 8th grade Lady Mavericks traveled to Frankford Middle School and brought their A-games with them. The Mavs were undaunted by the banner-filled gymnasium highlighting the many Falcon accomplishments. But his night was Maverick night as both girls' teams found victory.
The Plano East hockey club took on Arlington at the Dr. Pepper StarCenter in McKinney on Thursday in a divisional matchup. The Panthers (8-4-3) currently hold 4th place in the eastern division, trailing Highland Park by a single point. Murphy residents Andrew Bogdan and Caleb Jones were in the mix for the Panthers. Bogdan struck twice back-to-back in the second period, while Jones netted his goal in the third. Only seven games remain in the regular season, including tonight's contest against Richardson/Rockwall - puck drops at 7:30 p.m. at DPSC Farmers Branch. The Panthers seemed to struggle against the Wildcats in the district opener, but it made for an exciting game. Team leader Marcus Mathieu lead all scorers with 13. But Jarvis Pugh provided the entertainment in the final seconds.
