Murphy, TX – The Wylie Police Department received information that led investigators to obtain arrest warrants for subjects believed to be responsible for the Robbery at the Burger King in Wylie, TX.? Two suspects to the robbery in Wylie were questioned and confessed to investigators that the same three males also robbed the 7-11 Convenience Store in Murphy, Texas on the morning of August 16. Arrest warrants for Aggravated Robbery, a first degree felony, related to the Wylie robbery, were obtained for Miguel Valdez, 17, Samuel Ortiz, 19, and Juan Ortiz, 21, all of Wylie.? Miguel Valdez and Samuel Ortiz were taken into custody without incident on Friday, August 21 in Plano, TX.? Juan Ortiz remains at large. On Sunday August 16, 2009, in the early morning hours, the 7-11 store at 721 East FM 544, in Murphy, Texas was robbed at gun point by 3 unknown male subjects. The suspects had their faces covered and they spoke with an accent, possibly Hispanic. Official charges are pending against the three suspects identified in this press release for the Murphy 7-11 robbery. Several pieces of evidence related to the robbery have been recovered including the weapon believed to have been used to commit the offense in Murphy.
