Murphy Tx – The City of Murphy will hold its annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony on Thursday, December 4, 2008 from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the Murphy Municipal Complex. Please join us in welcoming Mr. & Mrs. Clause and listening to Christmas music from the Boggess Elementary School Choir, Murphy Middle School Orchestra and Choir, Wylie High School “Tempo” Choir and 15th Street Singing Group. Take your picture with Santa and enjoy a hot beverage from Starbucks and Saxby’s. There will also be a petting zoo. The following is a schedule of events:

Schedule of Events
5:00 p.m. – 5:15 p.m.  Boggess Elementary School Choir
5:15 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.  Santa Arrives
    Welcome from Mayor Baldwin
    Mayor & Santa start Countdown

5:35 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.  Murphy Middle School Orchestra & Choir
6:05 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.  Wylie High School Choir
6:35 p.m. – 6:50 p.m.  15th Street Singing Group
6:55 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.  Tree Judging Contest

Other Activities
5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Pictures with Santa
Petting Zoo (goats, lambs, sheep, turkey, ducks, rabbits and lama)
Murphy Messenger – Stop by for a red or green glow in the dark necklace! 
Murphy Monitor – Letters to Santa
The Exchange Club – Cards for Veterans
