EARLY VOTING AND ELECTION DAY VOTING

Murphy, TX – In conjunction with the General Election to be held on November 4, 2008, the City of Murphy will hold a Special Bond Election. Election Administrators would like to remind you that voter turnout is expected to be very high since this is a Presidential Election year and voters are strongly encouraged to take advantage of the early voting period. All registered voters may participate in early voting. Early voting will be conducted in the City Hall Lobby at the Murphy Municipal Complex, 206 N. Murphy Road, 75094.

Both City of Murphy precincts 25 and 144 can vote early at Murphy City Hall.

Election Day Voting
The General Election is administered by the Collin County Elections Administration. TheCollin County Election Administrator chooses the precinct locations. If you choose to vote on Election Day, voting will take place on Tuesday, November 4, 2008. Your voting location will be according to your voting precinct as listed below.

Location: Whitt Elementary, 7520 Woodcreek Way, Sachse, Texas 75048

Directions to Whitt Elementary
Take FM 544 to South Maxwell Creek Drive. Turn south on S. Maxwell Creek Drive. Go to Ranch Road and turn left. You will pass the Sachse Fire Department. Turn left on Woodcreek Way.

Sample Ballots
For a sample ballot, go to the following link and look for your precinct number. The bottom of the ballot will indicate either City of Murphy or City of Murphy/WISD.

Precincts 25 and 144 who are located in Wylie Independent School District will be able to vote for the City of Murphy Bond, WISD Bond, and Federal Elections at one location.

Voter Identification
To make the voting process as efficient as possible, you should present your voter registration card. If you do not have your voter registration card, you will need to provide one of the following types of identification:
1. a driver's license or personal identification card issued to you by the Department of Public Safety or a similar document issued to you by an agency of another state, regardless of whether the license or card has expired;
2. a form of identification containing your photograph that establishes your identity;
3. a birth certificate or other document confirming birth that is admissible in a court of law and establishes your identity;
4. United States citizenship papers issued to you;
5. a United States passport issued to you;
6. official mail addressed to you, by name, from a governmental entity;
7. a copy of a current utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck, or other government document that shows your name and address.

Your voter precinct number is located on your voter registration card. If you are unsure of your voting precinct, you may contact the City Secretary at 972/468-4011 or you may look up your precinct at the following link to Collin County Elections:
