NFC Sports, Inc. Construction to Begin in August

Signage is up on the 151 acre building site of NFC Sports, Inc. (Nuevo Frontier Christian Sports, Inc.) at the “T” of FM 544 and McCreary Road in Wylie. The facility will offer state-of-the-art indoor and outdoor sports facilities, training and tournament hosting.

“Meeting the sports recreation and training needs of this growing population of children and adults will be NFC Sports’ driving purpose. We will be ready to serve our community by providing superior coaching and training to our youth, junior high, high school, collegiate, and professional athletes. NFC Sports, Inc. will seek to maximize God’s gifts by helping each athlete reach their full potential. Our programs and curriculum will enhance our member’s lives by providing for a healthy spirit, body, and mind.” Said Rudy Ramirez, NFC Sports, Inc. President and Murphy resident.

Herzog, the developer of Woodbridge, is acting as coordinator between the 68 acre retail facility, the 12 acre retirement complex, and the 151 acre NFC Sports Complex. The project has been in the planning stages for over 18 months and was prompted by Rudy’s desire for a sports facility where his three children ages 13, 8 and 5 and other children and athletes could come and be coached, trained and have fun in a Christian atmosphere.

Rudy shares on his NFC website:  “In response to early successes on the ball field, I made athletic excellence my goal and committed myself to the cause. I realized that through the powerful medium of sports I could learn the principles of success. Through sports I learned core values that have stayed with me to this very day. Values such as caring, respect, honesty, and responsibility. Without the influence of my coaches, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and others in my life I very easily could have become just another statistic.”

The projected ground breaking is planned for early August, 2006 with a public event celebration to include bounce houses and live entertainment. Completion is estimated for 18-24 months from the start. NFC Sports facility will offer the following sporting opportunities for Murphy and surrounding communities:
