CITIZEN COMMENTARY
Submitted by JC Grayson, Parker, TX

Beware, citizens of Murphy! If your dog or cat is caught running loose and taken into the City of Murphy Animal Shelter, it will be put down 3 days later if it has no tags.

According to the City website www.murphytx.org, "Animal Control Code 5
§ 90.03 IMPOUNDMENT PROCEDURE, (H) Any animal…may be humanely euthanized after being impounded for 72 hours, except that any animal wearing a current vaccination tag shall be impounded for six days."

Our pets are important family members to most of us so be sure you have collars and/or microchips on your beloved pets so they can be returned home safely!

JC Grayson

Publisher's Note: JC Grayson is the former Animal Shelter volunteer who handled many of the pet registrations and clerical responsibilities for Animal Control Officer, Mike Garcia prior to his resignation. We will miss JC very much and appreciate her contributions both monetary and time spent caring for Murphy's lost and found pets.
