MURPHY (February 3, 2011) Due to the unusual weather conditions and treacherous ice on area roads, there will be no garbage or recycling collection today, Feb. 3, 2011. The questionable safety of the collection truck operators and other drivers on the city’s residential streets has caused the city’s contractor, Waste Management, to render this decision.

Garbage and recycling collection will resume normal operations next Thursday, Feb. 10.
 
Waste Management plans to add the resources and manpower required to collect the additional waste that is accumulating in Murphy residences and neighborhoods.
