City Hall Open House and Annual Christmas Tree Lighting and Holiday Celebration.
By City of Murphy | Published  11/24/2009 | Around Town | Unrated

Is it almost December already? Yes! The City of Murphy would like to invite the community to our City Hall Open House and Annual Christmas Tree Lighting and Holiday Celebration.

On Thursday, December 3, from 4:30 – 6:00 p.m., staff will be set up in the City Hall Lobby to visit about various city departments, city programs and just to visit! Bring the family, learn about city operations, check out Public Works machinery up close and have some cookies and candy!

Immediately following, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Murphy celebrates with its annual Christmas tree lighting and holiday event. Join us by the pond as we get into the holiday spirit. Get your pictures taken with Santa and live reindeer. Sip hot chocolate while the kids do crafts in Santa's Workshop area. Local school choirs will be singing your favorite holiday songs while we keep bundled up and enjoy the festivities.

This year we are working with Collin Country Children’s Advocacy Center, www.cacplano.org, and ask each of you to help with our city’s Holiday Toy Drive. The event is free, however, we do ask that you bring a new, unwrapped toy to the event and help make the holidays brighter for the children in Collin County that need our help. If you cannot make the event and would still like to donate, you may drop the toy(s) off at the City Hall Lobby at your convenience prior to December 20.
